Honeysuckle Sweep at Lorraine Davis Park - Webster Groves Green Keepers

Please join the Parks Division in removing invasive species along Shady Creek at Lorraine Davis Park on Tuesday, May 24th from 4 – 6 PM. The newly sprouted honeysuckle is not large, making it very easy to hand pull. Spring is the perfect time to remove these invasive plants to decrease competition and allow the native species to fill in and dominate the landscape. We are looking for 35 volunteers to attend this event.

Things to bring:

  • waiver form - can be emailed to [email protected]
  • safety glasses
  • water bottle
  • sunscreen
  • bug spray
  • snacks
  • hat
  • sturdy walking shoes
  • dress in layers

Gloves and safety glasses are required and will be provided by Great Rivers Greenway. Tools will be provided by the City of Webster Groves.

Parking is at 145 E Waymire, 63119.

Please be sure to follow COVID safety protocols if participating in this event. You should not volunteer if you are sick, have any symptoms, have a sick family member, or have knowingly been in contact with a COVID-19 positive person within the last 14 days prior to the event.
