Deer Creek Watershed Plan

The first draft of the updated 2021 Deer Creek Watershed Management Plan is now open for public comment as well as review by Missouri Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and local governments and technical experts. Public comments as well as comments from the reviewing agencies and governments may be incorporated into additional plan updates as appropriate.

The development of the Deer Creek Watershed Management Plan has been a three-pronged effort. This document has been shaped by extensive input from three standing committees:

  1. The Deer Creek Community Leaders Task Force is comprised of municipal representatives as well as representatives of other agencies with jurisdictional authority in the watershed.
  2. The Deer Creek Technical Advisory Group consists of engineers, landscape architects, and horticultural experts.
  3. The Deer Creek Watershed Steering Committee has created opportunities for individual citizens in the watershed to have direct input into the formation of the plan.

The Deer Creek Watershed Management Plan was accepted by Missouri Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2011. Download the 2011 accepted plan by section or summary [3.07 MB].
