CANCELED DUE TO WEATHER
Hope you can join us for a Honeysuckle Hack at Brentwood Wetland on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 9am - 12pm. Volunteer Check-in starts at 8:45 a.m. Parking is available at 3000 S Brentwood Blvd. We will be working along the riparian corridor of Deer Creek removing invasive bush honeysuckle by hand pulling, root docking, and small hand tools with herbicide application. Spring is the perfect time to remove these invasive plants to decrease competition and allow the native species to fill in and dominate the landscape. This is a family friendly event that is open to all ages.
Please dress for the weather. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that they do not mind getting dirty.
Things to bring:
- waiver form (Print out or email in advance)
- safety glasses
- water bottle
- sunscreen
- bug spray
- hat
- sturdy walking shoes
- dress in layers
Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Registered participants will be notified through email by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 8th, if cancellation becomes necessary.
