Saturday, October 27, 2018 is Make a Difference Day, a call to action.
Bush honeysuckle is invading many parks and natural areas in the St. Louis region. We could use your help eradicating this nasty plant and restoring habitat for our native wildlife. The birds and the butterflies will thank you for it!
We will be removing bush honeysuckle at Lorraine Davis Park located along the Deer Creek Greenway in partnership with Great Rivers Greenway.
- Parking is available at 145 E. Waymire Ave., Webster Groves, MO 63119. We will meet at the new pavilion in Lorraine Davis Park close to the parking lot.
- Ages 13+ are invited to join us; youth under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Please wear sturdy, closed toe shoes and dress for the weather.
Tools and work gloves will be provided.
A bagel breakfast, snacks, and water will be provided for this event. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottle to help us cut down on project waste. T-shirts are available while supplies last. Please fill out this form and submit it to City of Webster Groves if you would like to receive a T-shirt.
Lunch is also provided for Make a Difference Day volunteers at the Webster Groves Recreation Complex in the pool breezeway by the Webster Groves Lions Club (they stop serving at approximately 12:30 p.m).
