Webster Groves Riparian Corridor Restoration

Lorraine Davis MapCity of Webster Groves is partnering with Missouri Botanical Garden Deer Creek Watershed Alliance (DCWA) to enhance, restore, and improve the health of an approximately 2-acre riparian corridor on Shady Grove Creek at Lorraine Davis Park.

Webster Groves is seeking bids from qualified contractors to restore the Webster Groves Riparian Corridor in Lorraine Davis Park. Download the Request for Bids.


Project goals include the following:

  1. Establish a high visibility stormwater management project that will improve the water quality in Shady Grove Creek and Deer Creek.
  2. Reduce stormwater runoff and nonpoint source pollution reaching Shady Grove Creek and Deer Creek from uphill drainage areas.
  3. Increase and restore the riparian corridor and biodiversity using minimal disturbance methods.
  4. Improve the aesthetic appeal of the riparian corridor property.
  5. Provide an educational opportunity to enrich the public’s understanding of the importance of riparian corridors.
  6. Involve the public in hands-on opportunities to engage in improving stream health beyond their own property boundaries.

This Webster Groves Riparian Corridor Restoration Project is partially funded by City of Webster Groves and Forest ReLeaf of Missouri in addition to Missouri Botanical Garden’s Deer Creek Watershed Alliance, via financial support from US EPA Region 7 through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (subgrant number G22-NPS-09), under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act.
